Q. What are the most significant challenges facing clinicians today when treating mood disorders?

 

In Dr Faludi’s opinion, compliance and the rate of pharmacological response are the most significant challenges facing clinicians today as half of patients seem not to be responding well to their prescribed therapies. 

 

Q. What type of tools do you use regularly in your daily practice?

 

Assessment of depression typically is made using a rating scale (Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HRSD)’ Montgomery and Åsberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS)) or any self-rating scale.

 

Q. What’s your opinion on combining psychiatric and psychotherapeutic approaches to care?

 

It is important and a combined approach should be taken in most cases.
